Our story began with the things we love.

A Simple Question

At a certain stage in life, we found ourselves slowing down and asking a simple question: what do we truly love?

The answer was surprisingly simple. We love beautiful things. We love our daughter. And we love the nature that surrounds us here in Australia.

That is where Yanflower began.

The Name

The name comes from our daughter, Yan, but it carries another meaning close to our hearts. In Chinese, Yan echoes "艳" (yàn) — a word that speaks of the vivid colour and beauty of flowers. It felt like a natural name for something inspired by family, beauty and nature.

From Flowers to Living Plants

We first started with fresh flowers, enjoying the colour and joy they bring to a space. Along the way, we became increasingly drawn to indoor plants. Unlike flowers that capture a beautiful moment, plants continue to live, grow and change. They stay with us longer, quietly reflecting the seasons and bringing a little piece of nature into everyday life.

Inspired by Australia, Shaped by Asian Design

Living in Australia also gives us endless inspiration. With its rich variety of plants, natural textures and landscapes, we began exploring how this natural abundance could meet the balance, simplicity and artistic sensibility of Asian design.

That idea gradually became what Yanflower is today.

We thoughtfully bring together plants, carefully selected planters and considered styling, creating each arrangement by hand as a complete composition. To us, it isn't simply a plant placed in a pot — it is a living piece of art, thoughtfully created to become part of a space or a meaningful gift for someone special. Whether for a home, workplace, housewarming or new beginning, each piece is designed to live on, bringing lasting greenery, character and atmosphere to the spaces and moments that matter.
